Welcome!

Hi,

I’m Melinda and I’ve been designing knitting patterns for over 30 years. It all begin when I started working at my mother’s yarn store, The Yankee Knitter. I knit models for Bernat and Vogue Knitting and many models for the store. I started designing patterns for the store and those patterns grew into a pattern line.

This has been the most amazing job that I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful for all the the wonderful knitters who have supported me over the years!

Here are a few fun facts about me.

  • I’m a mom and a step- mom and I’m married to a great guy.

  • I live in Guilford, CT, a pretty town on the east coast.

  • Gardening is something I enjoy, but I only seem to be able to grow cucumbers.

  • My summers are spent sailing around Long Island Sound with my family.

One model complete 🙌. Do you remember when I asked who liked doing short rows? I was surprised at how many knitters REALLY don’t like them! So instead of short neck shaping on the top down Roll Raglan I’ve done a much easier shaping.

What do you think about the row of bobbles around the neck of this little sweater? I’m excited to see how it turns out. To be honest, I like making bobbles but a row is about all I have patience to do. . Pattern: still in my head, we’ll s
