Vintage Boatneck Sweater * Pattern #14
English only. This is a PDF download only (not a paper pattern)
The inspiration for the Vintage Boatneck sweater pattern was my father’s baseball letter sweater from high school. I used to wear it when was a teenager and I always loved it’s classic and simple style.
If you are looking for a good beginner sweater please consider this pattern. The back and front are knit flat, then you sew the shoulders, pick up the sleeves and knit them down. the only sewing is one seam up each side and down the sleeve. You don’t have to set in the sleeves.
I give 2 neck options.
#1 is the easiest, just do nothing and let it roll over.
#2 is the to turn the neck under and stitch it down (as shown in photo).
Instructions are given in US English terms.
